Introduction

The Audit Logs report provides a detailed record of all changes made to data in your Ledgy account. It allows admins and owners to track who made changes, what was modified, and when — ensuring full transparency and accountability for compliance, governance, and internal auditing purposes.

This article explains how to access and use the Audit Logs report to monitor activity across your organisation.

How to access the Audit Logs report

To access the Audit Logs report:

  1. Navigate to Reporting > Operational in the main menu

  2. Click on Audit logs

How to use the Audit Logs report

The Audit Logs report lets you filter and view changes across different data collections in Ledgy. Here's how to use it:

Step 1: Select a collection

Use the Collection dropdown to select which type of data you want to audit. Available collections include:

  • Transactions (selected by default) — Track changes to cap table transactions

  • Stakeholders — Monitor updates to stakeholder records

  • Documents — View changes to uploaded documents

  • Share classes — Track modifications to share class configurations

  • Collaborators — Monitor team member permission changes

  • Companies — View changes to company settings

  • Roles — Track role assignment changes

  • Exercise windows — Monitor equity window updates

  • Restriction periods — View trading restriction changes

  • And more...

Step 2: Select a date range

Set your desired time period using the From date and To date fields. By default, the report shows the last 7 days of activity. You can adjust this to view historical changes as needed.

Note: If the selected date range contains a large number of logs, the report may be truncated. Consider selecting a shorter time range if you see a "Report Truncated" warning.

Step 3: Review the audit log entries

The report displays a grid with the following columns:

  • Record — The name or identifier of the affected record

  • Type — The type of change (Create, Update, or Delete)

  • User — The team member who made the change

  • Key — The specific field that was modified

  • Old value — The previous value before the change

  • New value — The updated value after the change

  • Date — When the change occurred

By default, entries are grouped by Record and Type to help you quickly identify all changes made to a specific item.

Exporting the Audit Logs
