Through an email invitation
Most of the time, a founder manages the company on Ledgy. They can invite you to collaborate with them on Ledgy. After they do that, you can:
Click the accept invitation button in the email
Select the investment firm to which to add the company if you have multiple ones
Multiple different emails: If the company invites you with the same email you use for your account in Ledgy, the invitation will show up on the Home page. But don’t worry, the emails to where the invitations have been sent don’t have to be the same. Just accept the email invite (by clicking on the link in the email) and log in with your existing account, even if you received the invitation to a different email.
Directly as an admin of the company
If you are an admin of the company yourself, there's the following quick-add:
Go to the portfolio you would like to add them to
In the top left section of the dashboard, you can click Add and select Existing company
You will then be able to choose an existing company (to which you have admin or owner access) in the drop-down and select the stakeholder you would like to be linked to your portfolio
Shortcut when creating the company: You can create a company directly from within your investment firm, which will automatically add it to the portfolio. Just select Add and Create New Company and follow the setup steps.
Add current numbers only
You can add an entry to your portfolio without setting up the full company and cap table. Just use the Add investment button in your portfolio and enter the fields you would like to track.
Invite the company
With the Invite company button, you can quickly invite the founder, CFO, or company board member. They will receive an email invitation to use Ledgy for equity management and invite you. After setting up their company on Ledgy, they need to follow the steps in the first section to invite you.
The invited company will show up as a pending invitation. Once they received the invitation and set up the company on Ledgy, you can remove this entry again by clicking on the three dots on the right and click Remove from portfolio.
