Introduction
Ledgy Agent is the AI assistant built directly into your Ledgy workspace. It lets you ask questions about your equity data in plain language, get instant answers and charts, and - with your approval - even have it make certain changes for you. No setup is required.
Looking to connect an external AI tool such as Claude, Cursor, or ChatGPT to your Ledgy data instead? That is a separate, more technical integration called Ledgy MCP.
How to open Ledgy Agent
There are two ways to start a conversation with Ledgy Agent:
Option 1: From the sidebar
Log in to Ledgy and go to your company workspace
Look for Agent in the AI section of the left-hand sidebar
Click it to open the Ledgy Agent chat
Option 2: From the command bar
Press Cmd+K (or Ctrl+K on Windows) to open the command bar from anywhere in Ledgy
Type your question directly, or search for Agent and open it
If you typed a question, select Ask Ledgy Agent to send it straight into a new chat
If you don't see these entry points yet, refresh your Ledgy page - the beta is rolling out gradually.
Who can use Ledgy Agent
Ledgy Agent is available to Owners, Admins, and Viewers on a company. It is not yet available to collaborators with a custom role. If you don't see Ledgy Agent in your sidebar and believe you should have access, contact your Ledgy account manager - the beta is being rolled out company by company.
What you can ask Ledgy Agent
Ledgy Agent understands natural-language questions about your company's equity data.
Here are some examples of what it can help with:
Understand your ownership and dilution
"What is our fully diluted ownership breakdown today?"
"How much of our option pool is still available?"
"How has our diluted ownership changed over the last 12 months?"
Check vesting and grants
"How many options has [stakeholder] vested so far?"
"Which grants have a performance condition attached, and what are they?"
"Show me all grants that vested last quarter"
Look up stakeholders
"Show me [stakeholder]'s profile and current holdings"
"Which stakeholders joined in the last 6 months?"
Search transactions
"Find all transfers involving [investor name]"
"Show me the details of transaction [ID]"
Review share classes and terms
"What is the liquidation preference on our Series A shares?"
"List our share classes and their voting rights"
Check signatures and offboarding
"Which signature requests are still outstanding?"
"What does our offboarding configuration look like for leavers?"
Run quick calculations
"If we issue 50,000 new options, what is the dilution impact?"
Ledgy Agent can also turn its answers into charts directly in the chat, and it keeps a history of your past conversations so you can pick up where you left off.
Actions Ledgy Agent can take for you
Beyond answering questions, Ledgy Agent can also make certain changes in Ledgy on your behalf, such as:
Creating or editing a stakeholder record
Inviting a stakeholder
Creating a new share class
Setting up a custom field
Publishing a signature request draft
Offboarding a stakeholder
Creating a grant (rolling out gradually)
Nothing happens automatically. Whenever Ledgy Agent proposes a change like this, it shows you an approval card summarising exactly what it wants to do. Nothing is created, edited, or published in Ledgy until you click Approve. If you click Deny, or simply don't respond, no change is made.
Ledgy Agent respects your permissions
Ledgy Agent only has access to the data your Ledgy role already allows. If your access is limited to a specific group of stakeholders, Ledgy Agent's answers are limited the same way - it cannot show you, or act on, data you couldn't otherwise see in Ledgy.
Good to know during the beta
Ledgy Agent can make mistakes - always verify important numbers before relying on them, for example before making a decision or reporting to your board
Not legal or tax advice - use Ledgy Agent's answers as a starting point, not as professional advice
Capabilities are still expanding - more questions and actions are being added throughout the beta
How to share feedback about Ledgy Agent
There is no wrong way to share feedback during the beta. Even a short note is useful.
Built-in feedback tool - this is the fastest option. Use the feedback buttons inside the agent and add a short comment while the response is still fresh
Email - send feedback directly to [email protected]. A one-line note is enough
Feedback session - if you would like a live conversation, contact the AI Systems team at [email protected] and they can help arrange it
What happens with your feedback
Feedback from the built-in tool, email, or feedback sessions goes directly to the AI Systems team. The team uses it to fix issues, improve answer quality, and prioritise new capabilities.
Frequently asked questions
Does Ledgy Agent see all of my company's data?
No. Ledgy Agent only sees the data your existing Ledgy role and permissions allow.
Can Ledgy Agent change my data without asking me first?
No. Any action that would create, edit, or publish something in Ledgy is shown to you as an approval card first. Nothing happens until you click Approve.
Is this the same as connecting Claude, Cursor, or ChatGPT to Ledgy?
No. That is a separate, more technical integration called Ledgy MCP, typically set up by an IT or technical team member. See How does Ledgy MCP (Beta) work?
Why can't I see Ledgy Agent yet?
Ledgy Agent is currently available to Owners, Admins, and Viewers, and is rolling out company by company. If you believe you should have access, contact your Ledgy account manager.
Where should I send beta feedback?
Use the built-in Ledgy Agent feedback buttons or email [email protected].
