Introduction
When you're invited to join Ledgy, you'll create a stakeholder account to view your equity holdings, track vesting schedules, submit exercise requests, and manage your shares.
Getting started involves accepting your invitation, setting up secure authentication, providing tax information, and adding your bank details. Once your account is set up, you can access your dashboard to see the current value of your equity, upcoming vesting events, and any documents your company has shared with you.
This guide walks you through the complete setup process and explains the key features of your stakeholder dashboard.
How to get started
Creating an account
Accept the invitation
Click on the link in the email that says "Accept invitation" to set up your account with Ledgy. ⏳ The link expires after 30 days. If you run out of time, contact the admins of the company you would like to access to get re-invited.
You will be taken to Ledgy to create an account. Confirm that the pre-populated name and email are correct.
Set a strong password, or authenticate via SSO if available to you.
Set up 2FA.
Accept the EULA and nominee agreement.
Complete Personal Information.
Provide Tax Information.
Add personal Bank Details.
Single Sign-On (SSO)
If the email address you have been invited to join Ledgy with is your company email domain, you can authenticate via Single Sign-On, meaning you only need to sign into your company email to be able to access Ledgy securely.
To use SSO:
Once you have received an email from Ledgy inviting you to create an account, click Accept Invitation.
You'll be taken to Ledgy's Sign Up page, pre-populated with your company email address.
Click Continue, and then accept the Terms & Conditions.
Click Start and you'll sign in without a password.
Note: Your employee dashboard will only be available on your invited email address. Please make sure to log in with the correct email address each time.
Set up 2FA (two-factor authentication)
If your company admins have enabled this, as soon as you log into Ledgy, you will be prompted to set up your 2FA via a compatible authenticator app.
Use an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Duo, or Authy) on your smartphone to scan Ledgy's QR code, then enter the latest 6-digit code generated.
❗ Important: Save the recovery code — it is essential to reset the 2FA method if you lose access to your device with the authentication app.
Once this is complete, you can use the authenticator app to generate a code every time you log in.
For more information on setting up, recovering, or switching your 2FA, please see How to set up and use 2FA (two-factor authentication)?.

Your Employee Dashboard
Today's Value
In this section you can see the total value of your vested holdings, including any shares you own and any vested 'in-the-money' options. You'll also see information including the date of your next vesting event and the date that all of your currently issued grants will be fully vested.
Current share price
In the top-right of your dashboard, you can see your company's current stock price. It is updated every 15 minutes.
Your equity
In this section you can see the overall number of each type of equity instrument you hold.
If you own any shares outright, you'll see the number as well as their current stock value.
You can also see each equity grant you have, the next vesting event date(s), the date the grant(s) are fully vested, and the current estimated value of the vested portion of each grant.
If you have a combination of grant types, your equity section will show the breakdown.
Vesting breakdown
The Vesting breakdown shows you the entire time-based vesting schedule(s) in a colourful graph. By hovering over the graph at a certain time and date, you can see how many cumulative units, and their estimated value, will have vested by then.
If you have multiple grants, you will see all their vesting schedules by default. You can select to only see certain vesting graphs and make others invisible.
You can also toggle between the individual view of each vesting schedule on the Individual tab, and the accumulated vesting schedule of all of your grants by clicking the Accumulated tab.
Requests
Here you will see the status of any submissions you have made on your Ledgy account. These include:
Exercise requests
RSU release elections
Share sales
By clicking the 'information' button in each request, you can see the full details and status of the request.
Other parts of your Ledgy Account
Holdings
In the Holdings section, you can get an overview of each issuance of shares and issued stock (typically from exercising) via the Your Shares tab.
You can also get a breakdown of each grant in the Your Grants tab. They appear as cards.
In the top right corner, there is the option to switch from the 'Card' style view to a 'Grid' style view.
You can choose what information is displayed to you on the Grid by configuring the View. To edit the grid or view to show information you may be interested in but is not shown by default (such as the grant's strike price or vesting start date), you can do the following:
Click Columns to add or remove data points that are of interest to you. You can drag column titles along the title row to configure the columns in a way that suits you.
You can change the way the information is grouped. By default, it will be grouped by Share Class for the Shares view and Plan > Grant in the Grant view. To change the groups, you can drag and drop columns to the grouping menu bar.
Once you have added a column, you can also use filters for data associated with this field.
You can save this new configuration by clicking Save as new view and rename the view to a name of your choice. Next time you come into the Holdings page, you can click the dropdown menu in the top left corner of the table and click on this pre-saved view without having to build the configuration of the view again.
Documents
In the Documents section, you can see all the documents that have been shared with you by your company. These can often include grant agreements, plan rules for your equity scheme, and exercise documents if you have exercised any of your options.
If you expand the part of the grid that has your company's name, you can view all of the documents either as a PDF (which can be opened within the Ledgy app) or a Word document (which can be downloaded from our secure Documents folder).
Sell shares
If you hold shares, you are able to sell them directly on Ledgy. To do this, you must ensure that you have added your bank information so we know where to deliver the proceeds. Please be aware that if this bank account is in a different currency to the share currency, an FX conversion fee will be applied.
Once you have entered your bank info, you are able to select the number of shares you would like to sell in the Amount to Sell section.
Within the Sale Summary, you will see the estimated proceeds of your sale, based on the current stock price, less the trading fee, transfer fee, and FX conversion fee (if relevant).
Please be aware that the numbers listed are only estimates and subject to fluctuations in the market.
Once you have submitted your order, check the Requests section of the dashboard to view the status of the order.
For more information on placing a sell order and understanding the selling flow, please see How to sell shares.
Signatures
In the Signatures section, you can see all the signature requests that have been shared with you, as well as the documents that have been signed through Ledgy.
You are also able to sign any documents that are still pending signature, either through Ledgy's native e-signature provider or through DocuSign if your company has sent the signatures through their connection with DocuSign.
For more information on reviewing and signing documents in Ledgy, please see How to sign a document via the Stakeholder Dashboard?.
Settings
In the Settings section, you can see your account settings.
If your preferred currency is different from the currency set by your company, you can change this in your Settings page. Your dashboard will be shown to you at the live exchange rate.
In your Preferences, you can update the language of your dashboard by selecting a locale (we currently offer German, English, and French).
If your company has not enabled SSO, you can also update your login email for Ledgy, for example, from [email protected] to [email protected]. If you do so, please reach out to your company admin so that they can amend this on the company side too.
Finally, if you do not wish to receive email notifications from Ledgy, you can toggle to turn this off in your settings.
For more information on updating your login email, password, notification preferences, or personal account currency, please see How can I update my name, email, password, or the currency of my personal account?.
