How to delete your personal or company account in Ledgy?

Step-by-step guide to remove your personal or company account from the platform

Introduction

Deleting your Ledgy account is a straightforward process, but you need to meet certain requirements first. Follow these steps to completely remove your account from our platform.

Please note that deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. Once deleted, all associated data will be irreversibly erased from our system.

Prerequisites before deleting your personal account

Before you can delete your Ledgy account, you must ensure you are not the owner or administrator of any company. If you are, you will need to:

  • Transfer ownership to another user on the Stakeholders page if you are the sole owner. Otherwise, you may transfer to another collaborator user via the Collaborators page.

  • Delete the company entirely from the Company Settings page if transferring ownership is not an option

Additionally, ensure that all necessary data, such as ownership transactions, cap tables, equity plans, pools, and grants, have been exported for record-keeping purposes before proceeding.


How to delete your personal account

  1. Click on your name in the bottom-left corner of the screen to access the account menu

  2. Select Settings from the dropdown menu

  3. Find the Danger Zone section

  4. If you meet all prerequisites (not being an owner or admin of any company), the Delete Account button will be visible and not greyed out.

  5. Click the Delete Account button

  6. Confirm your decision in the verification prompt that appears


What happens after deleting your account

When you delete your Ledgy account:

  • All your personal information will be removed from our system

  • You will no longer have access to any companies you were a part of

  • Your email address will be available for use with a new account if you decide to rejoin later

Once deleted, this data cannot be recovered under any circumstances.

If you don't see the Delete Account button in the Danger Zone section, please check that you have completed all the prerequisites listed above.


How to delete your company account

Before you delete your company account, ensure that you have exported all your data to prevent any loss of important information.

To delete a company account in Ledgy, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Company Settings in your Ledgy dashboard.

  2. Select the General section.

  3. Scroll down to the Danger Zone area.

  4. Choose the option to Delete Company Account and follow the remaining steps.
