Introduction

KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) help you keep stakeholders informed about your company's performance. Ledgy allows you to track both standard business metrics and custom KPIs, then share them selectively with specific stakeholders.

This article explains how to set up KPIs in Ledgy, enter performance data, and control who can see your company's metrics.

Who can manage KPIs: You need to be an account admin in Ledgy to create, edit, and share KPIs with stakeholders.

Setting Up Your KPIs

Basic KPIs

1. Go to Communication > KPIs

The following KPI sections will appear by default:

  • Revenue actual

  • Liquidity

  • Profit/Loss EBITDA

  • Employees

2. Click on the Values button to enter the relevant values

3. After you have populated the Values on the tables, they will could something like this:

Note: You do not need to address both Expected and Actual columns. However, in order to continue adding values to your KPIs, each row needs to have at least one value. The date of each KPI is automatically assigned depending on the Reporting Interval and Start date.

You can also edit your Basic KPI settings, by clicking on the Settings button on the top right corner of the page.

You can customise what stakeholders see these basic KPIs, along with the update interval, start date, profit/loss type (EBITDA or EBIT), and revenue type (actual or recurring).

Note: You can delete a specific KPI using Delete icon (depicted as a trashcan) in the top right corner of the section you wish to delete. These KPIs can be added again, but you'll need to re-enter the values.

Custom KPIs

To add custom KPIs, in the same page (Communication > KPIs):

  1. Click Add KPI in the top right corner

  2. Select Custom from the dropdown menu

Fill in the following sections

The image below shows examples of different custom KPIs:

You can edit individual custom KPIs and add values (just like with basic KPIs)

KPI notifications

Your stakeholders will be able to see your up-to-date KPIs in their personal dashboards if they are invited to portfolio view and the KPI has been shared with them. Stakeholders will not be informed when they are invited to see the KPIs, nor will they receive notifications when KPI values are updated.
