This article is about creating and saving custom grid views of various tabular charts within the Ledgy app. You can customize the stakeholder list, the cap table, the scenario models, all features of the equity plans, as well as all tables in the documents area: data room, reports, and signatures.

Important note!

  • Collaborators with the Owner access level can create, save, edit, delete, and access all views: their views and that of other collaborators.

  • Collaborators with other access levels (Admin, or Granular Access) can create, save, edit, and delete only their views, but they can access all custom views.

When you are in Ledgy, on a page with a table and the table header contains a drop-down button and an "Edit view" button, it indicates that you can customize the view of the table.

Collaborators can create a variety of views for themselves and other collaborators. At the moment, collaborators will not be able to create a view for stakeholders such as employees or investors. However, they can create various views that suit their needs and save it.

By clicking on the left-hand side on the drop-down button, you will find a list of pre-configured views under the category "Created by Ledgy" that we have already created for you. To build a custom grid view, click "Create new view".

A pop-up window opens. You write down a name for the custom view and click then on save for everyone.

You will find your new custom view in the drop-down list under the "Created by me" category. "Save for everyone" allows other collaborators to use a view that you have created.

Edit an existing view

You can customize a table before saving the view or adjust an existing one you created by clicking on the "Edit view" button.

It will open a modal window. In this window, you can specify how to group the data in the table, which columns you want to see in your table, the maximum number of items you want to display per page, and if you wish to see a compact or an extended grid view. Click inside each field to add or remove attributes, but you can also reset everything to the default setting.

You are also able to re-order the columns according to the sequence per drag & drop:

If you are in a pre-configured view and customize the table according to your needs and want to save the settings, click on the button "Save as new view", which will appear.

When editing a view you have already created, click the "Update view" button to save it.

You can rename or delete custom views by clicking on the three dots next to your custom view. For now, you cannot set a view you have created as the default view.

Switch between views

Switching between custom views is easy when you have built multiple views for several use cases and different stakeholders. Click the drop-down button and navigate between the pre-created or custom views.

Exporting custom views

You can download and share your customs views/reports with others by clicking on the "Export" button.

You can export your cap table (Ownership > Cap Table) as an Excel or PDF file.

The motto is: What you see is what you get!"

It means that the way you have filled the table with the columns and the data points is how we will export the Excel file to you.
