Introduction

You can update your personal and tax information at any time after completing onboarding. This includes your legal name, residential address, date of birth, tax residency countries, tax identification numbers, and place of birth. Keeping this information current ensures your equity documents and tax reporting remain accurate.

Steps to edit your personal and tax information

  1. Navigate to your Account Settings

To access your personal information, go to your Account Settings page in Ledgy. You can find this by clicking on your profile icon in the top right corner of your dashboard and selecting "Account Settings."

Open the Personal Details editor

Once you're on the Account Settings page, locate the Personal details card. Click the Edit button (pencil icon) to open the editor.

The Personal details card contains the following information:

  • Full legal name

  • Residential address

  • Date of birth

  • Tax residency country #1 and Tax identification number #1

  • Tax residency country #2 and Tax identification number #2 (if applicable)

  • Place of birth

  • Country of birth

Update your information

After clicking Edit, you'll be guided through 1-3 pages depending on what you're updating:

Page 1: Personal info and address

On this page, you can update your full legal name, residential address, date of birth, place of birth, and country of birth. Enter the new information in the appropriate fields.

Page 2: Tax residency details

On this page, you can update your tax residency country and tax identification number. If you have dual tax residency, you can add a second tax residency country and corresponding tax identification number.

Page 3: Effective dates (only if updating existing fields)

If you're changing information that already exists in your account, you'll see a third page asking you to confirm the effective date of the change. This helps maintain accurate records for tax and compliance purposes. Select the appropriate effective date for your updates.

Confirm and save your changes

After completing all necessary pages, review your changes and click Save to update your personal and tax information. Your updated details will now be reflected in your Ledgy account and used for all future equity documents.

Important considerations

  • Accuracy is critical: Your personal and tax information is used for legal documents and tax reporting. Make sure all details are accurate and match your official records.

  • Tax residency changes: If you've changed your tax residency, update this information as soon as possible to ensure correct tax treatment of your equity.

  • Effective dates matter: When changing existing information, the effective date you select determines when the change takes effect for compliance and reporting purposes.
