Introduction

Stakeholder groups let you organise your equity holders into categories such as Employees, Investors, Founders, or Advisors. Grouping stakeholders makes it easier to view your cap table by ownership distribution, invite multiple stakeholders at once, share documents and updates with specific audiences, and manage communications efficiently. You can assign stakeholders to pre-defined groups or create custom groups that match your company structure. This guide explains how to add stakeholders to groups individually or in bulk, and where groups are used throughout Ledgy.

Add stakeholders to groups

  1. Change groups one-by-one;

    1. Go to the Stakeholders page

    2. Edit the Stakeholder

    3. Under the field "Group" select an existing group or add a new one

  2. Change groups in Bulk;

    1. On the Stakeholders page, in the top right corner, click on the "Bulk" button

    2. Select to export a list of "Natural person" or "Legal entity" stakeholders to excel:

    3. Under the "Group" column in the Excel file, type the name of the group you'd like the stakeholder to belong, this can include new groups that you want to create

    4. Re-upload or drag and drop the Excel file via Step 3: Upload File

Where are the groups used

  1. Cap table page
    One of the views of the cap table is by group, meaning the distribution of the holdings is displayed in the "total sum per group"

  2. Inviting stakeholders

    Choose to invite full groups of stakeholders at a time via Stakeholders > Invite stakeholders

  3. Sharing
    You can share information with the whole group.
    How to share information with a group of stakeholders, please take a look at the following article.

  4. Documentation

    When generating and sharing documents directly from the Ledgy Data Room, you can share per individual or with full groups
