Introduction
Once you've added stakeholders and transactions and set up your Ledgy account, the last thing you should do before inviting your stakeholders to Ledgy is hit the Publish button.
Publishing transactions updates the dashboards of stakeholders you have invited or will invite. Until you publish, stakeholders won’t see their stake, so make sure you publish before inviting.
Note: Stakeholders won’t see their stakes in their employee dashboards until you publish the corresponding transactions, so check if you have published them!
Where can I publish transactions for my cap table?
You can do so by clicking the Publish button at the top right of your Ownership > Transactions page. The number on the Publish button shows how many draft changes are waiting to be published.
Note: Hitting the Publish button will not immediately publish all your transactions. You will first have a chance to review all the drafts and decide whether to invite and notify your stakeholders.
Clicking Publish opens the Review and publish transactions window, where you can review every draft change and choose which ones to publish.

Which functions are available?
Selective Publishing
Selective publishing is available on all Ledgy plans.
To publish transactions, click Publish on the Transactions page.
The window that opens lets you choose which transactions to publish. All drafts are selected by default. Untick the ones you don't want to publish yet, or use the checkbox in the header to select or deselect all.
Each row shows a status: Draft (new), Modified (changed since it was last published; hover over the info icon to see what changed) or Deleted.
Once you have finalized your selection, click Publish selection to complete the publishing process.
Once you click Publish selection, your drafts will become visible to stakeholders who have been invited to Ledgy. Drafts you leave unticked stay as drafts, so you can publish them later.
Sorting
You can sort by #, Transaction, Status, Date and No. of units to make it easier to find the transactions you want to publish.
Search
Use the search box to find drafts by stakeholder name, sequence number or transaction type (for example option or payout).
Stakeholder notifications
Notify involved stakeholders
By enabling this option, you will notify stakeholders directly involved in the transactions. The stakeholder must already have accepted an invitation. This option is off by default. It only appears when at least one stakeholder involved in the selected transactions has already accepted their invitation.
Invite remaining stakeholders
Turn this on to send Ledgy invitations to stakeholders involved in the transactions you're publishing who haven't been invited yet. They need a valid email address in their stakeholder profile. This option is off by default and only appears when there's someone to invite. You also need permission to edit stakeholders to use it.
Are there any limitations?
Performance Conditions
If a grant uses a performance condition that hasn't been published yet, you can't publish that grant. The window shows a "Publishing blocked" warning with a Publish performance conditions link. Publish the condition first, then come back and publish the grant.
FAQ
Can I reset the changes I made in my cap table?
On the Transactions page, you can also reset all drafts by clicking the Reset button next to the Publish button. This opens the Reset all new changes window, where you'll be able to review the changes before resetting them.
Will the app show me a warning if I am going to publish an error?
Yes. When you click Publish selection, Ledgy checks your selection first. If publishing it would cause errors in the cap table, publishing is blocked and you'll see one of these warnings:
Selected transactions with issues: lists the selected drafts that have a problem. Click Deselect issues to untick them and publish the rest.
Selected transactions with linked issues: your selection causes a problem in another transaction (for example, a draft you selected relies on one you left unticked) or in an unpublished performance condition. Fix the linked issue or adjust your selection, then try again.
